Published on 24/12/2017
While most hotels experience makeovers, very few get upgraded as frequently as the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. Constructed entirely from a mixture of snow and ice, or “snice,” the structure has been rebuilt from the ground up every year since 1989, with each performence more stunning than the previous. The 28th ICEHOTEL, which opened for business on December 15, is no exception.
All hotel rooms are for 2-4 guests, but couples and families have to share rooms. To make sure the guests are comfortable in freezing wheather , the beds are covered in reindeer skin. They are also given warm sleeping bags. In each room there are different designs on the wall and sometimes you can go into other peoples rooms and see what design there is on their wall.
